Day 1Welcome to Sri Lanka | Airport Pick-up

AYUBOWAN! Welcome to Sri Lanka, a land like no other, where 8 days of exploration await, showcasing the best of ancient history, vibrant culture, lush green tea estates, cascading waterfalls, captivating wildlife, and stunning golden sandy beaches. Upon your arrival at Colombo CMB airport, you’ll be greeted by your tour leader and transferred to your hotel (we also offer pickups from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo).

Our journey begins in Negombo, a coastal town renowned for its pristine beaches, delectable cuisine, and vibrant atmosphere.

Day 2Let's start Adventure | Elephant Feeding | Sigiriya Rock

Start your day with a tasty breakfast and a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or coffee. Then, get ready for an exciting journey through the stunning countryside of Sri Lanka to Dambulla city, which is right in the middle of the island’s cultural triangle.

DAY PLAN:

On the way to Dambulla, we’ll stop by the Pinnawala Elephant Rehabilitation Center (Entrance Fees Excluded). This place takes care of injured elephants found in the jungles. You can feed them and even give them a bath in a nearby river (Entrance Fees Excluded).

Once we reach Dambulla, you’ll enjoy a fantastic cultural village tour, exploring the beautiful countryside and getting a close look at the unique local culture and lifestyle of the Sri Lankan people. The tour includes a fun Bull Cart ride and a peaceful catamaran boat ride across the lake, followed by a visit to a farmer’s house. Here, you’ll experience a Sri Lankan curry cooking demonstration and savor authentic countryside food (Entrance fees Included).

In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site / Entrance Fees Excluded). It’s the perfect time to see the stunning sunset from the top. This rock was where King Kasyapa built his palace between 477 and 495 AD, adorned with colorful frescoes. It’s considered one of the wonders of the world because of its incredible architecture and technology.

You’ll spend the night at a nature-friendly resort in Dambulla, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Day 3Cave Temple | Kingdom of Kandy | Cultural Show

In the morning, we’ll head to Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. It’s situated on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and diverse rainforests. Kandy is renowned for its sacred Buddhist sites, notably the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

DAY PLAN:

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Royal Cave Temple and the Golden Buddha Statue (UNESCO World Heritage Site / Entrance fees excluded). Dambulla boasts the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock stands 160 meters tall over the plains and contains five cave temples with some of the most unique and historically significant drawings.

Next, we’ll head to Kandy and visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (UNESCO World Heritage Site / Entrance fees excluded).

In the evening, you’ll have free time to explore Kandy’s city center and viewpoint before attending a cultural dance show inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance, and cultural heritage (Entrance fees Included).

You’ll spend the night at a cozy hotel with a mountain view in Kandy.

Day 4Hill Country | Tea Plantation

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a delightful journey through the lush green tea plantations and cascading waterfalls towards Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s tea region. Known as “Little England,” Nuwara Eliya features buildings from the British colonial period, such as the Queen’s Cottage, the General’s House, the Grand Hotel, the Hill Club, and the Town Post Office.

DAY PLAN:

In the morning, we’ll visit the Museum to learn about the world-renowned Sri Lankan gem mining process. Then, we’ll head to the Peradeniya Royal Garden (Entrance Fees Excluded), renowned as one of the best botanical gardens in Asia.

En route to Nuwara Eliya, as we drive through the cold misty hills, we’ll stop at a tea plantation (Entrance Fees Included). Here, you’ll witness the rich tradition of processing the prestigious brand of Ceylon tea. Don’t forget to end your factory visit with a perfectly blended cup of tea.

In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore Nuwara Eliya’s city center, featuring British colonial architecture such as the iconic post office, grand hotel, and Victoria Park, as well as the bustling fruit and vegetable market.

You’ll spend the night at a hotel with a mountain view in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5Train Journey Through Mountains | Ella

Embark on an unforgettable train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, immersing yourself in the picturesque landscapes of Sri Lanka’s hill country. As the train winds its way through verdant tea plantations and past majestic waterfalls, you’ll be captivated by the stunning natural beauty. This scenic route offers glimpses of the lush countryside and showcases the charm of Nuwara Eliya and Ella, making it a highlight of your Sri Lankan adventure.

DAY PLAN:

In the morning, you’ll embark on a breathtaking train journey from Nanu-Oya station to Ella village (Train tickets will be arranged at the station / Class category is subject to availability). This journey is renowned as one of the most scenic hill country train rides in the world.

Upon arrival, take a leisurely stroll through the charming Ella village. It’s a beloved destination for nature enthusiasts, surrounded by lush greenery. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the iconic Ravana Waterfall and Nine Arch Bridge, which are among the most popular attractions in Ella.

Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to Yala National Park, the largest and most stunning national park in Sri Lanka (Entrance fees excluded).

You’ll spend the night at a cozy safari resort in Yala, ready for an exciting wildlife adventure the next day.

Day 6Yala National Park

After an incredible journey through coconut and tea plantations, mountains, and waterfalls, you’ll finally reach the world-famous southern beaches of Sri Lanka. Mirissa/Dikwella is a delightful sandy beach that was once a hidden gem but is now welcoming more visitors with a few restaurants and pubs. Its white sands and coconut palms lining the shore create the perfect tropical beach scene.

DAY PLAN:

Early in the morning, while it’s still cool and misty, you can head to Yala National Park (Entrance Fees Excluded). Upon arrival, hop into a 4×4 jeep for a wildlife game drive. Look out for leopards lounging in trees, crocodiles patrolling the river, or wild elephants quenching their thirst in the morning sun.

Afterward, continue your journey to the south coast. Once you arrive at your hotel, grab a towel and relax on the beach while sipping on a cocktail or enjoying a chilled beer under the shade of a palm tree.

Optional activities such as Jet Skiing, Banana & Tube Boating, Diving, Snorkeling, Surfing, and Fishing are available for those seeking adventure.

You’ll spend the night in a modern beach resort on the south coast, ready to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the seaside.

Day 7Galle Fort | Whale Watching

After breakfast, you’ll head towards Galle, a city renowned for its Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Here, classic Dutch and British architecture blend seamlessly with the tropical setting, creating a vibrant atmosphere of beauty.

DAY PLAN:

In the early morning, you can return to the stunning golden sandy beach and hop into a boat for an incredible sea ride to spot blue whales and dolphins. Please note that whale watching is a SEASONAL activity (Entrance Fees Excluded).

Then, we’ll proceed to Galle, stopping at Matara en route to witness and capture pictures of the famous Sri Lankan stilt fishermen.

Upon arrival in Galle city, take a leisurely stroll through Galle Fort, where you’ll hear the creaks of wooden saloon doors and witness the fusion of European architecture with South Asian traditions. The historical Galle Lighthouse stands proudly on the southeast tip of the fort (Entrance Fees Included).

In the afternoon, visit a turtle hatchery center, where baby turtles learn to swim and injured adults are rehabilitated back into the ocean (Entrance Fees Included).

Next, enjoy a scenic boat ride on the “Madu” river through the mangroves (red water trees). Along the Madu river, you’ll arrive at a fish farm, where you can experience Sri Lankan fish therapy if interested (Entrance Fees Excluded).

You’ll spend the night at a semi-luxury beach resort in Bentota, ready to relax and unwind after an eventful day of exploration.

Day 8Last Night

After breakfast, you’ll explore Sri Lanka’s capital city of Colombo, which boasts a rich history dating back to the fifth century. Once a crucial port city in the East-West sea trade, Colombo has evolved into a bustling modern metropolis with a unique charm.

DAY PLAN:

Upon arrival in Colombo, you’ll have the opportunity to visit iconic landmarks such as the Red Mosque, Gangarama Temple, and Independence Square. Explore the colorful streets, vibrant restaurants, and modern shopping malls that attract both locals and tourists alike.

Afterward, consider dining at one of Colombo’s famous and internationally renowned restaurants for an unforgettable meal to conclude your trip.

Finally, we’ll ensure you’re transported to the airport in time for your return flight, or if you prefer, we can drop you off at your hotel in Colombo or Negombo.
