You will arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport today in accordance with your 8 Days Sri Lanka Tour. You will be greeted at the airport by a representative of ASY Tours, following which you will board your car and go to the City of Kandy, your first stop. You are expected to stop by the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala along the way. In Sri Lanka, Pinnawala is a unique location to watch elephants.
The facility was founded in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation to care for juvenile elephants that were abandoned and lost in the untamed woods. These lovely animals are adopted, raised, and reproduced in captivity. It is situated 13 kilometers northeast of Kegalle town in Pinnawala village. The world’s largest herd of captive elephants resides at the Pinnawala orphanage. The Seetha Amman Temple is the next location and is located in Sita Eliya, close to Nuwara Eliya. It is the sole Hindu shrine in Sri Lanka devoted to Princess Sita. It is one of the most important Sri Lankan Ramayana locations. The area’s soil is black in color; it is said that Lord Hanuman burned this area before leaving Sri Lanka. Lord Hanuman’s imprint is still discernible in a nearby creek.
